Narrow win for Tonge

BOWLS: NEWLY-crowned Manchester Premier League champions Tonge were restricted to an 8-7.5 (179-143) home victory over Sale in their penultimate fixture of the season.

Tonge’s final game of the season is at Chorley outfit St Joseph’s on Wednesday.


MATCHES continue in the Inbev Winter Bowling League at Chadderton Cot this weekend.

Tomorrow (’B’ Division): Prestwich v Vixens at 9.45am; Chadderton Cot v Dogwood at noon; Stalybridge v Nimble Nook at 2.15pm.

Sunday (’A Division): Royle v Springbank at 9.45am; North Chadderton v New Street at noon; Waterloo and Taunton v Springhead at 2.15pm.
