TABLE TENNIS: HOLLINWOOD ‘B’ were the stars of the show in Division One of the Oldham and District Table Tennis League.
Matty Evans registered a superb treble and was ably supported by a Steve Collins double and last-minute replacement Joe Redikin, who won a crucial single, in a 6-4 win over Grotton ‘A’. Shaun Ellis’ two wins were in vain.
MC & MA defeated last season’s runners up BAE ‘A’ 7-3, with Tristan Swan maintaining his unbeaten record. Ian Quinn and Colin Boardman weighed in with two wins each, while Tony Bates replied with a brace.
In Division Two, title hopefuls Droylsden and Werneth ‘C’ shared the spoils in a 5-5 draw.
Miles Benjamin was excellent for Droylsden, winning three, with Pete Morris and Paul Wilkinson securing two victories apiece for Werneth.
