Strong show

BOXING: OLDHAM Boxing and Personal Development Centre celebrated three impressive wins at the Collyhurst and Moston Show.

Cameron Joyce succeeded in the 55kg category, as did 35kg duo Jack Ellender and Will Cawley.

Ellender was first in the ring and gradually took control of his bout with Ellis Costigan, an awkward southpaw.

Despite being troubled by his opponent’s style, Ellender delivered several powerful right hands to the head on his way to victory.

Cawley was up against Rowan Aldus and produced an emphatic performance which saw him receive the event’s ‘Boxer of the Night’ trophy. Slick movement and accurate head and body shots earned him the win.

Joyce, meanwhile, peppered Jayden Seale with some straight right hits on the way to a comfortable victory.
