HOCKEY: OLDHAM remain the team to catch in Division One of the Greater Manchester Women’s Hockey League.
The firsts maintained their unbeaten start to the season with an impressive 2-0 win against Manchester University.
The local outfit were in control from the word go, and the result was never in doubt after Louise Howard took on the defence single-handed to open the scoring.
Karen Rowley doubled the scoreline in the second half, converting a cross from Rebecca Blair.
The player-of-the-match award was split between strikers Oona Cassidy and Howard.
