Prolific Mike Oates put the Lilywhites ahead seven minutes before the interval.
Half-time substitute Luke Forbes levelled matters for the visitors, five minutes after his introduction.
But Oates put the home side back in front eight minutes later, and Lee Blackshaw extended the lead just after the hour mark.
