Lilywhites fall at the first hurdle

NON-LEAGUE FOOTBALL: MOSSLEY crashed out of the Manchester Premier Cup in the first round after a 3-2 defeat at home to Curzon Ashton.

A Chris Worsley header gave the visitors the lead after 20 minutes, before Daniel Shannon latched on to a loose ball to give Curzon a two-goal cushion at the interval.

The Seel Park faithful had something to shout about when Chris Rowney’s deft chip found the net shortly after the break.

Shannon converted Luke Mack’s delivery to extend Curzon’s lead after 68 minutes.

Danny Murray scored a late consolation for the Lilywhites.

CHADDERTON earned a fine 2-0 victory over New Mills in their first round tie.

Paul Buckley’s side took the lead through Troy Hayder one minute before the half-time whistle.

A Chris Pauley strike after an hour ensured Chadderton, of the Vodkat North-West Counties League Division One, knocked out their Premier Division opponents.
