RUGBY LEAGUE:
JOHN Hough is combining his duties as coach of the Oldham Roughyeds’ reserve team with those of head coach of the Oldham Service Area under-18s, which also takes in Tameside.
The basis of the squad, which trains at the Whitebank Stadium, comes from the under-18s teams of Waterhead, Oldham St Anne’s and Saddleworth Rangers, but not exclusively so.
Hough works closely with Steve Molloy, the RFL’s talent co-ordinator for Oldham and Tameside, and with Chris Chamberlain, Oldham’s new rugby league development officer.
Said John: “It will be good to forge Roughyeds’ links with the RFL at youth level, and also with the local amateur clubs.”
