RUGBY LEAGUE:
HOLLINWOOD sauntered to a 52-10 victory over Stainland Stags in the Pennine League Division Five.
Andy Gorey got the scoring under way for the local outfit, who have won four out of five matches this season to sit second in the table on points difference.
The former Roughyed, who has done much to lift the club’s fortunes this campaign, broke the deadlock after only five minutes with a try and conversion.
Hollinwood’s steady scoring rate gave their opponents no chance of gaining a foothold in the match.
Ian Hunt, Warren Taylor, Peter Davies, John Byrom and Steve Hubbert all touched down before the break, with Gorey adding two more conversions.
The visitors mustered only one try in reply, as the home side entered the half-time interval with a 30-4 lead.
Matty McCullough crossed twice in quick succession for Hollinwood in the second half, before Phil Bell gave an outrageous dummy and scored under the posts.
Bret Mason touched down and Gorey added three more goals, before the away side crossed and converted late on.
Centre Peter Davies was man-of-the match.
