Kurpass is star man for Santos

AMATEUR FOTBALL:
SANTOS battled to a 3-2 win at Gatley in the Lancashire and Cheshire League Division Two.
The visitors trailed 1-0 at the interval but Tim Buxton levelled matters five minutes after the restart.
Gatley regained the lead with a penalty, prior to Keith Kurpass equalising with a cheeky lob and scoring the winner from close range shortly afterwards.
Player-manager Jonathan Phillips said: “These are the type of games that win leagues.”
Chadds suffer home defeat
CHADDERTONIANS went down to a 3-1 home defeat to Chew Moor Brook in the Lancashire Amateur League Premier Division.
Two early goals put the visitors in the driving seat and, despite Mark Ashworth reducing the deficit after 25 minutes, Brook scored again before the break.
Chadds ‘A’ were beaten 3-1 by visitors Bacup United in Division Three.
Jak O’Dea grabbed the consolation goal for Chadds.
In Division Six, the ‘B’ side lost 4-1 at Radcliffe Amateurs ‘B’, Matt Henson notching Chadds’ solitary strike.
ASHTON United Ladies beat Macclesfield Town
5-3 after extra time in the Cheshire and Manchester Women’s League Challenge Cup.
Hayley Hardy scored a hat-trick for Ashton, while Rachel Cummins and Helen Smith also found the net.
ROCS under-18s are through to the semi-finals after a 3-2 victory over Altrincham.
Rhema Mears pounced twice, and Angela Fox scored the other goal.
HEYSIDE Angels under-18s lost 2-1 to Hillgate Blues, with Blossom Halkyard on target.
