Terrific Tara in double joy

BADMINTON: TARA registered a double success in Division One of the Oldham and Rochdale Badminton League.

They crossed Manchester to face Northern Flight and a tight match saw them triumph 10-8. Rob Newman and Rich Hadfield contributed four wins.

Tara were involved in another close contest at Lancashire Racquets, Tony Weston and Mark Webster winning four games together to help them to another 10-8 victory.

Saddleworth ‘A’ pushed visitors Lancashire Racquets all the way before succumbing 11-7, while Dons beat Lydgate 15-3 with Nick Weston and Pete Ramsden winning four games.

Lydgate’s latest match saw them welcome Northern Flight but, despite some fine wins from Ali Grimshaw and Richard Power, the visitors left with a 14-4 win.

Saddleworth ‘B’ took on one of the new teams, Bury Topflight, in Division Two.

Tansy Jones and Andy Mills were both unbeaten throughout the match as Saddleworth won 16-2.

Their next match at Spotland saw Jones perform superbly again to help secure an 11-7 win.
