NON-LEAGUE FOOTBALL: OLDHAM Boro and Chadderton crashed out of the Vodkat North-West Counties League Trophy in the first round.
Tony Mills' Boro side suffered a 1-0 defeat at Atherton Collieries. Chris Ward notched the winning goal with 10 minutes left.
Chadderton produced a brave performance at home to Division One leaders Wigan Robin Park, but lost the tie 2-1.
Steve Williams pounced for the visitors after half-an-hour and Chris McNally doubled the advantage just before the interval.
Paul Buckley's men rallied after the break and Andrew Pheby pulled a goal back with 12 minutes remaining.
But the hosts could not find an equaliser.
