BOWLS: NORTH Chadderton caused a surprise when they overturned Hopwood in the ‘A’ Division of the
Inbev Winter Bowling League at Chadderton Cot.
Bill Holland’s 21-10 victory over Greater Manchester’s Ryan Goodman was the stand-out
performance for North Chadderton, although Graeme Flint, Colin Brooks, Lee Schofield and Darren Mountford all produced fine displays.
Hopwood bounced back by beating title contenders Springbank 7-4, Nigel Greenhalgh and Steve McHugh leading the way with 21-12 wins.
Royle advertised their title redentials with a 10-1 defeat of North Chadderton, while Waterloo and Taunton heaped more misery on New Street with a 7-4 victory.
There were three close matches in the ‘B’ Division.
Dogwood had a welcome 7-4 win against Stalybridge, while Chadderton Cot defeated Failsworth by the same score. Nimble Nook had three 21-20 losers in their 6-5 victory over Prestwich.
