NON-LEAGUE FOOTBALL: MOSSLEY crashed out of the Evo-Stik League President’s Cup second round last night with a 2-0 defeat at the hands of neighbours Curzon Ashton.
The visitors took the lead after 10 minutes when Daniel Shannon made no mistake from close range.
Forwards Mike Oates and Richard Bennett, who plays for Springhead in the Bridgewater Office Supplies Manchester League Premier Division, were both thwarted by Curzon goalkeeper Dave Carnell.
Shannon rounded Joe Potts to seal the victory in the 90th minute.
OLDHAM Boro also went down to a 2-0 home defeat against high-flying Wigan Robin Park in the Vodkat North-West Counties League Division One.
Chris McNally opened the scoring just before the hour mark, before Stephen Edwards doubled the lead from the penalty spot four minutes later.
