MOSSLEY manager Shaun Higgins has snapped up Athletic goalkeeper Josh Ollerenshaw on a one-month loan deal.

Number one stopper Peter Collinge is suspended for the Evo-Stik League Division One North game at Chester City on November 6, following his dismissal in the 6-2 defeat to Darlington in the FA Cup.

Higgins said: “I have known Josh for a long time. He played for me at junior level for Stalybridge Celtic and Stockport County.

“Even though Peter is only going to miss one match, it is a big one, Chester away, so we could not take any chances.

“I am delighted to have Josh on board.”

The Lilywhites will also have to do without Chris Rowney and Steve Settle for the trip to the Deva Stadium. The pair also saw red against Darlington and are banned.

Higgins is discussing loan deals for Macclesfield centre back Michael Thomas, and Callum Byrne of Rochdale, who operates anywhere in midfield.

Mossley host Nantwich Town in the FA Challenge Trophy second qualifying round tomorrow.

CHADDERTON travel to AFC Liverpool tomorrow in Vodkat North-West Counties League Division One.
Gareth Morris, Liam Melia and James Curley are all suspended, while boss Paul Buckley is also missing Ben Greenidge (other commitments) and Kieran Killacky (hamstring strain).

Buckley said: “The team won’t take shape again until the banned players return, but it is all about enjoying yourself and we look forward to the challenge ahead.”

OLDHAM Boro host Eccleshall and hope to welcome back Mike Cheetham (groin strain) and Paul Brown (work commitments).
Manager Tony Mills said: “I feel we have turned a corner now. We lost our last match to the leaders, Wigan Robin Park, but it was only 2-0 and we battered them in the first 45 minutes.

“Their coaches said they could not have had any complaints if they had gone in to the break two or three goals down.

“Hopefully, we can take the positives into the Eccleshall game.”
