OLDHAM Boro thumped Eccleshall 4-0 in the Vodkat North-West Counties League Division One.

Darren Scanlan gave Tony Mills’ side the lead after 24 minutes on a comfortable afternoon for the hosts.

Boro stepped up a gear after the break and Andrew Smith doubled the advantage with little over 20 minutes remaining.

Scanlan struck again eight minutes from time, before Wayne Ware completed the rout with four minutes left.

Boss Mills said: “Darren Scanlan is a big presence for us at the moment. He is great to have around the place and is banging the goals in, too.

“Unfortunately we lose him soon because he is in the army, so we will have to make the most of him.

“It was a great all-round performance from the lads. Our home form is strong this season.”

CHADDERTON earned a 2-0 victory at AFC Liverpool in a one-sided affair in NWCL Division One.

Adam Edwards gave Paul Buckley’s team the lead four minutes after the break, and struck again after 87 minutes to ensure the win.

Buckley said: “I think we were only troubled once in the entire match, when their free kick made our goalkeeper work, but apart from that we were solid.

“Adam Edwards is flying at the moment. It is a shame he has a three-match ban coming up for the red card he received against Wigan Robin Park.

“Hopefully he can pick up where he left off when he returns to the side.”
