Honour in defeat for Hulmeians

OLDHAM Hulmeians pushed Old Boltonians Reserves all the way, but eventually lost 5-4 at the Lancashire Amateur League Division Two pacesetters.

Johnny Shaw (two), Elliot McKinnell and Phil Yates were the men on target for Hulmeians.

In the Premier Division, Gary Pickup’s fine free-kick clinched a 1-1 draw for Chaddertonians at home to Howe Bridge Mills, while Failsworth Dynamos swept aside Radcliffe Town 8-2.

Adam Duxbury registered a hat-trick for Chadds reserves in a 5-2 win at Bolton Lads Club. Dom Rathmall and Dave Jackson were also on target in the Division Two clash.

Chadderton piled up the goals in an emphatic 12-0 defeat of Lymm.

Warren Griffith scored the consolation goal for Chadds ‘A’ in a 2-1 defeat by Castle Hill reserves in Division Three, and Failsworth Dynamos reserves were beaten 2-1 by their Radcliffe Town counterparts.

Meanwhile, Hulmeians reserves had to settle for a point in a 1-1 home draw with fellow high-flyers Prestwich reserves in Division Five.

In Division Six south, Hulmeians ‘A’ went down 4-2 at Bolton Wyresdale ‘A’, the ‘B’ team were beaten 5-1 by Lymm ‘A’ at Tate Street, and Chadds ‘B’ lost 4-1 at Old Mancunians ‘B’. Adam Flint replied for Chadds.
