FAN-TASTIC OCCASION FOR MOSSLEY
Date published: 05 November 2010
MOSSLEY are counting down to their biggest away-day of the season so far in Evo-Stik Division One North.
Manager Shaun Higgins takes his team to table-toppers Chester City, who are regularly attracting gates in excess of 2,000 at the Deva Stadium.
Wound up in March, 2010, Chester reformed and are now going great guns in the promotion race.
And for the majority of Higgins’ men, it will be the biggest crowd they have played in front of in their careers.
* OLDHAM Boro have suffered a double blow in the build-up to tomorrow’s Vodkat North-West Counties League Division One game at home to basement boys Rochdale Town.
Tom Hughes has joined local rivals Chadderton and fellow midfielder Matty Hampson has signed for Bacup Borough.
Boro boss Tony Mills said: “After also losing Jamie Rother and Sean Roscoe two weeks ago to Trafford, our midfield has been completely decimated.
“Hopefully, I’ll be able to draft in some new players for this weekend’s game.”
Hughes goes straight into the squad for CHADDERTON’S Vodkat Challenge Cup round-two fixture at Bacup Borough.
Hughes is joined by Chadderton’s other new-boys, goalkeeper Matty Blair and Scott Fitzgerald, who has made the move from Beechfield United in the Manchester League.
Blair, who played for the former Oldham Town club, has come out of retirement to replace the unavailable Lee Swanson.
