Oldham see lead vanish

DARTS: OLDHAM darts team let slip a 4-1 lead as they crashed 5-4 at home to Southport in the GMC Lancashire Super Eights Elite League.
Wins from Stuart Holden (4-2, at an average of 81.95 for every three darts thrown), Peter Connolly
(4-3, 79.16); Dave Rawstron (4-0, 89.89) and Gary Jackson (4-2, 70.72)
seemingly put the home side on track for a comfortable success.
But Southport never gave up and stormed back to clinch the spoils with a run of five wins on the trot.
Oldham’s Lee Williams averaged 90.57 in game eight, but went down 4-1 to Lee Palfreyman (97.30).
Rawstron hit two 180s and Holden one, while the latter also recorded a 13-dart game.
Oldham’s next match is away to St Helens on Sunday, December 4.
