RUGBY LEAGUE: NEW signing Kristian Dennis is pushing for his first Mossley start as the Lilywhites host Lancaster City tomorrow in the Evo-Stik League Division One North.

Dennis, who scored 12 goals for previous club Woodley Sports before his arrival at Seel Park, came on as a substitute during the last game for Shaun Higgins’ men in the 4-3 defeat at Harrogate Railway Athletic.

Higgins is keen for others to start taking the goal-scoring burden off prolific hitman Mike Oates, and may opt to play Dennis from the start.

OLDHAM Boro welcome back Damien Schofield and Lee Deakin for tomorrow’s home clash with Irlam.
The pair missed the 5-4 victory at Abbey Hey due to other commitments.

Manager Tony Mills is also set to give a debut to John Nolan, from the under-19s squad.

Mills said: “John has a very good engine, he will run all day for you. Every team needs a player like that.

“We have lost only once in five games and we will give Irlam a run for their money.”

ADAM Edwards returns from suspension for Chadderton’s trip to Leek CSOB.
But boss Paul Buckley is without Tom Hughes and Andrew Pheby, who both have other commitments.

Buckley said: “Leek are usually a strong side, but we are playing well at the moment.

“We just have to keep our feet on the ground, and hopefully pick up three points.

“Some players have been disappointed to miss out on selection of late, but I have reminded them it is a squad game, and a long season.”
