Vale of Lune 3rds 14, Oldham 2nds 15
DIVISION Three North’s bottom club almost embarrassed an Oldham outfit chasing a fifth win of the season.
Will Mellor’s try and Scott Danby’s conversion enabled Oldham to go into half-time on level terms.
But, despite Danby’s penalty, Oldham went behind for a second time when Vale scored a try which they converted.
Oldham responded just after the hour mark when Will Mellor made a 40-metre break, drew the full-back and gave an excellent pass to Matt Brogan, who in turn passed to Jack Hawkins to dive over for the match-winning try.
Oldham 3rds 17, Broughton Park 4ths 17
OLDHAM eared a share of the spoils thanks to two tries by Martin Kenny - his 10th and 11th of the season, and both converted by Rhys Jones.
Jones had to hold his nerve to score with a late penalty from 25 metres which clinched a draw for the Manor Park men.
