Rebels given ground go-ahead

MANCHESTER City Council has approved plans for a 5,000-capacity stadium to house FC United in Newton Heath.
The Evo-Stik Premier Division club, formed by disgruntled Manchester United fans, could soon be homed in the £3.5m purpose-built ground in Ten Acres Lane.
The move could see the popular semi-pro side set up home just a flag-kick away from Latics — if Athletic’s plans to move to Failsworth go ahead.
The Rebels have been sharing Bury’s Gigg Lane since they were formed five years ago.
