FORMER England defender Dave Watson was the guest speaker at Royton Cricket Club’s sportsman’s dinner.
Watson (49) entertained the audience with tales of his playing career, which included spells at Norwich City and Everton, where he spent 15 years before retiring in the 2000-01 season.
He was also appointed caretaker manager of the Toffees after the resignation of ex-Athletic manager Joe Royle in 1997. Watson, who made 12 appearances for England, is now a youth coach at Wigan.
