Big freeze set to have final say

FOOTBALL: THE non-league schedule is expected to be wiped out tomorrow.
Mossley are scheduled to welcome Witton Albion to Seel Park in Evo-Stik League Division One North, but don’t anticipate a ball being kicked.
Club secretary Harry Hulmes said: “We usually have to wait until the day of the game for a postponement to be officially announced.
“However, I am planning to contact the league to see if a referee can come and inspect the ground today, because I am sure there is no way we can play.
“Fans can look on our website, www.mossleyweb.com for confirmation.”
An equal dose of resigned acceptance is sweeping through the Vodkat North-West Counties League Division One.
Chadderton are due to host AFC Blackpool, while Oldham Boro are supposed to travel to Daisy Hill.
But Boro boss Tony Mills said: “We couldn’t train last night, and I have primed the players for it being called off.
“It’s a shame because we had Lee Deakin and Andy Smith back in the squad, but I can’t see it happening.
“There will be an inspection tomorrow morning.”
Chadderton manager Paul Buckley added: “There is no prospect of us hosting a football match. The players have been told as much.”
An announcement on both matches will be made on www.vodkatleague.com
