Saeed sparks great recovery

LEADERS Oldham Academy ‘B’ produced a stunning recovery in Division One of the Manchester Snooker League.
Trailing 3-0 and 33 points behind on aggregate against Reddish Cons, they seemed destined for defeat.
But Kamran Saeed cleared the remaining two reds and the colours to clinch the penultimate frame by a single point.
Mohammed Ehsan needed to win the final frame by 32 points to seal the aggregate and a 4-3 victory — and he did after potting the colours.
Academy ‘A’ swept aside Moor Club 6-1 to move within a point of their ‘B’ team.
Farakh Ajaib gave away a handicap of 66, but only lost on the pink after building a break of 61.
Craig Atherton, Sajid Zamurd, Ian Atherton and Martin McGuiness, who cleared up with a 37 break after being 22 behind, were the ‘A’ team winners.
