Rugby hit by weather
Date published: 09 December 2010
AMATEUR RUGBY: FOR the second week running, the entire National Conference League was decimated by the weather.
All 19 fixtures, spread over three divisions, were postponed as the icy weather took its grip again.
Hopes of a resumption this weekend hinge on a sudden thaw.
In the Premier Division, Saddleworth Rangers are away to York Acorn, while Waterhead play host to Eastmoor Dragons in Division Two.
Oldham St Anne’s (Division One) have an open date.
Only one game went ahead in the North-West Counties League — Leigh East beat Albert Park 38-24 in Division One — while Hollinwood’s fixture at Meltham All Blacks in Pennine League was called off.
