AMATEUR FOOTBALL: LANCASHIRE Amateur League outfit Chaddertonians have been celebrating after receiving FA Charter Standard Adult Club accreditation.
The club, who run four teams, met FA criteria for the award, which includes making sure they are well organised and managed, and committed to providing a positive experience for players, coaches and volunteers.
Chadds also ticked the box for showing their desire to help raise standards throughout grassroots football.
Chairman Chris Nickerson received the plaque from Lancashire FA Council member Geoff Blakeley, at Hopwood Hall Sports Centre in Middleton, where Chadds are based.
The standard of the playing and training facilities at Hopwood Hall are also thought to have been instrumental in gaining accreditation.
On the pitch, the frosty weather saw Lancashire Amateur League action postponed.
