THE local sport schedule was once again decimated after the snow returned with a vengeance.
Chadderton were meant to host Ashton Town in the Vodkat North-West Counties League Division One, but it was not possible as the cold snap also put paid to Oldham Boro’s trip to Eccleshall.
Mossley, down to travel to Bamber Bridge in Evo-Stik League Division One, also sat it out.
The all-weather pitch on Chapel Road failed to beat the elements, ruling out Oldham Sunday League action.
Oldham RU had to postpone De La Salle’s visit in the North Lancs and Cumbria Division.
The rugby league programme was also completely wiped out.
Saddleworth Rangers’ home match with Bradford Dudley Hill in the National Conference League Premier Division was called off.
Oldham St Anne’s’ visit to Stanley Rangers in Division One and Waterhead v Egremont Rangers in Division Two went unplayed.
In North-West Counties League Division Three, the game between Higginshaw and Heysham Atoms was called off and so too Hindley against Rochdale Cobras in Division Four.
Blackpool Scorpions ‘A’ v Fitton Hill in Division Six was not played, nor was Hollinwood’s journey to Burnley Lions in Pennine League Division Five.
