Michael Wild: snooker champ
SNOOKER: MOORSIDE snooker star Michael Wild displayed his potting prowess once again in the 2010 Pontins Championship held at Prestatyn Sands Holiday Park, North Wales.
Michael (29) of Haven Lane, was one of 59 qualifiers and displayed his dominance with a 2-0 final verdict over Craig McEvoy (West Midlands).
Wild, one of the top amateurs in the North-West and a regular on the exhibition circuit, picked up a cool £500 for his efforts.
Little Cot open gap in title battle
LITTLE Cot ‘A’ extended their lead in the Pet Au Purrs Oldham Amateur Snooker League after defeating St Paul’s 4-2.
D Newton got Cot off to a fine start against M Meaden before C Hall levelled the scores, taking the second frame for the visitors against M Healy.
M Kennedy and S Connell put Cot 3-1 ahead before S McQuillan pulled a frame back.
Comrades dominate top-two showdown
SAW Tech Shaw Snooker League leaders Comrades ‘A’ extended their advantage to eight points with an emphatic 6-0 defeat of nearest rivals Moss Inn.
Comrades ‘B’ are into third place after a 3-3 draw with Cartshaft.
