Lilywhites try again

MOSSLEY will again try to welcome Curzon Ashton to Seel Park tonight in the Evo-Stik League Division One North (7.45pm kick-off).
The clash was called off on Monday afternoon as the playing surface hadn’t recovered sufficiently enough from the icy snap.
But Lilywhites manager Shaun Higgins believes there is a chance the fixture will get the green light tonight.
He said: “It wasn’t quite there on Monday — not a million miles away, but not up to standard.
“We think there is a decent chance that this second attempt will be successful. It’s at least 50-50.”
Higgins’ side have not played a home match since November 23, when they saw off Trafford 6-0.
Mossley travel to Woodley Sports on Saturday.
The use of Woodley’s 3G pitch has given the Lilywhites hope that the fixture will go ahead.
Elsewhere, Oldham Boro’s derby showdown with Chadderton in the Vodkat
North-West Counties League Division One fell victim to the cold weather conditions.
Monday sees Chadderton host Abbey Hey, and Boro head to Rochdale Town, weather permitting.
