No holds barred for bold Buckley

Non-league:

PAUL Buckley is promising his Chadderton team will go all-out for victory in the top-of-the-table clash at high-flying AFC Blackpool tomorrow (3pm).

A point separates the two sides at the head of Vodkat North-West League Division One.

But Blackpool have three matches in hand over Chadderton, prompting Buckley to adopt an attacking policy.

He said: “We won’t be holding back. If we win, we’ll go top and the pressure will be on them to make up the deficit. On the other hand, defeat would see us slip further behind and they would still have those games in hand.

“It will be interesting to see how we react to the situation but, as I’ve said before, we’re more than a match for anyone in this division.”

Buckley has a plenty to occupy his mind in terms of team selection.

Regular full-backs Adam Brown and Chris Pauley are available after work commitments ruled them out of Monday’s 3-1 win at home to Abbey Hey.

Defenders Dave Glynn and Ben Greenidge are back in contention, so too Ben’s brother Donovan and fellow midfielder Andrew Pheby.

FRONTMAN Wayne Ware and midfielder Gary Nolan are back in the Oldham Boro side, who play host to AFC Darwen in the Division One of the NWCL tomorrow (3pm).

Both men have recovered from the effects of ’flu to take their places in the starting line-up.

Ware is a straight swap for Darren Scanlon, who has returned to the army.

Scanlon will be a big miss for mid-table Boro. He scored two second-half goals in the 2-2 draw at basement boys Rochdale Town on Monday.

MOSSLEY, who visit Radcliffe Borough tomorrow, are on a roll in Division One North of the Evo-Stik League.

A run of five games without defeat — four wins and a draw — has lifted Shaun Higgins’ troops into 11th place.

That sequence of results make the Lilywhites warm favourites to beat this weekend’s hosts (3pm).

Boro are languishing in 18th spot, while Mossley will be looking to add to the 16 goals they have scored in their unbeaten spell.
