‘B’ team display plenty of spirit

SNOOKER: LEADERS Oldham Snooker Academy ‘B’ team came from behind to defeat Belle Vue ‘A’ 4-3 in Division One of the Manchester League.
Trailing 3-0 and 60 points adrift on the aggregate, Oldham were heading for a heavy loss.
But Shuja Riaz produced a 55-point victory, before captain Kamran Saeed beat Jamie McArdle in the final frame to take the aggregate and clinch a narrow victory.
The club’s ‘A’ team, who are second, overcame Belle Vue ‘B’ 5-2, thanks to wins from Sajid Zamurd, Martin McGuiness and Ian Atherton.
In Division Two, Oldham’s ‘C’ team recorded an emphatic 7-0 win over Cheadle SC 7-0 to extend their lead at the top of the table.
K Mahmood, N Mohammed, Mohammed Tufail Ahmed, Nasser Khan and Imran Jamiel were the successful quintet.
