AMATEUR FOOTBALL: HUDDERSFIELD and District League Division One outfit Diggle lost 3-2 at home to Netherton in the Barlow Cup.
Heyside reserves exited the Richardson Cup in stunning style following an 11-7 loss to Netherton reserves.
Trailing 6-5 with seconds remaining, Heyside levelled matters to take the game into extra-time.
But they conceded three quickfire goals and, despite pulling one back, two Netherton strikes in the last couple of minutes killed them off.
On the mark for Heyside were Steven Partington with four goals, Matthew Peers, who grabbed a brace, and Thomas Quinn.
Hoyle Cup action saw Uppermill fourths beat Lindley Libs 3-2.
Crucial win for Carsons
BOTTOM side FC Carsons raced to a 4-0 triumph over mid-table Red Star in the D & J Builders (North-West) Ltd Oldham Sunday League Jack Abbott Premier Division.
J Munson pounced twice for the hosts, with M Terris and M Seers also getting in on the act.
Failsworth Athletic, the nearest side to FC Carsons, were beaten 6-0 by leaders
Royton FC. R Quinlan struck four times.
Third-placed Khartoum ‘A’ went down to a 3-2 home defeat at the hands of High Crompton, who are fifth.
Murdoch scored a brace for Khartoum, but C Ryan, N Campbell and A Wheelton were on the mark for the visitors.
N Eastmond grabbed a hat-trick for Rifle Range Reds in their 5-3 defeat of Fitton Hill. J Curley and J Jacobs did the rest of the damage.
K Holt found the net for Oddies in their 1-1 draw with Coppice United ‘A’, for whom M Ali was on target.
