Royton in overseas swoop

CRICKET: ROYTON have gone Down Under for their 2011 overseas amateur in the Lake Garage CLL.
Chris Hutchinson (22), from Perth, will be linking up with new skipper Alan Durose, professional Luke Procter and the rest of the Paddock outfit.
Hutchinson, an aggressive, right-handed top-order batsman who can also bowl off breaks, was spotted by Royton’s former skipper Matthew Ward, who is currently working in Australia.
He comes to England with a good reputation, having represented his club, Joondalup, in a graded cricket final at the West Australia Cricket Association (WACA) ground at his home city of Perth.
During that game, he hit over 70 so is clearly a player for the big occasion.
Also on his way to the Paddock is 19-year-old Ryan Carruthers, who is currently studying at Manchester University.
Carruthers has represented Cumbria at all levels from under-11 to under-19 and is a highly-regarded top-order batsman who can bowl seam up.
