HOCKEY: OLDHAM women’s first team continued their push for the Greater Manchester League Division One title with a 5-2 victory over Didsbury Northern.
Rebecca Blair put Oldham in front, before Oona Cassidy added a second.
Didsbury stormed back with two quick goals to draw level, but a double strike by Louise Howard and a further effort from Cassidy sealed victory for the home side.
An understrength Oldham seconds put up a good fight against City of Manchester before eventually succumbing 5-0.
Fielding a side which included six third-team players, they competed well in the first half but paid for their exertions after the break as Manchester ran out comfortable winners.
Oldham thirds enjoyed the majority of possession and were guilty of missing a host of chances in a disappointing 2-0 defeat by Glossop.
