Sidaway bows out

SQUASH: MATTHEW Sidaway, who attends Oldham Sixth Form College, lost in the second qualifying round of the British National Squash Championships in Manchester.
Despite winning the first game 11-6 against Hertfordshire’s Adam Fuller, he lost the next three 11-6, 11-5, 11-8 to exit the competition.
Sidaway, from Woodhouses, landed his first national title last March when he defeated Tom Ford to win the British under-17s title.
The talented teenager won the Sporting Achievement category at the 2010 Pride in Oldham Awards ceremony.
He is a member of the Lancashire Health and Rackets Club in Middleton and the Manchester Squad Academy, based at the National Squash Centre next to Manchester City’s Eastlands stadium.
