NON-LEAGUE FOOTBALL: MOSSLEY start life without Ben Richardson tomorrow when they go to Witton Albion in the Evo-Stik League Division One North.
The utility player, who was closing in on his 100th game for the Lilywhites, has left Seel Park to join Woodley Sports.
Mossley boss Shaun Higgins said: “It is sad to see Ben go because he was a loyal servant to the club.
“He received a very good offer from Woodley so he decided to leave.
“But looking forwards, we have good players in this squad who are more than capable of taking Ben’s place.”
Striker Chris Hall will feature against Albion tomorrow after his return to match fitness, and there is better news on Aaron Chalmers, who was expected to be out for the season with ankle ligament damage.
Higgins added: “Chris has played for the reserves and is ready for first-team action, so he will be involved at the weekend.
“Aaron’s injury is not quite as bad as we originally feared, and he should be back within four weeks.”
CHADDERTON are without a host of players for tomorrow’s visit to Holker Old Boys in the Vodkat North-West Counties League Division One.
Other commitments rule out Leon Melia, Adam Brown, Chris Pauley, Keith Melvin and Andrew Pheby.
Dave Glynn is suspended, while Lewis Maynard is ruled out with a broken foot.
Manager Paul Buckley said: “Many of the lads can’t make it, but I am not worried because I have a lot of options.”
OLDHAM Boro welcome AFC Liverpool in the NWCL. Boss Tony Mills hopes to hand debuts to midfielder Micky Martin, who joined from Woodley Sports, and former Maine Road striker Ryan Shaughnessy.
