Nook in stroll to success

BOWLS:
NIMBLE Nook clinched the Inbev Winter Bowling League’s ‘B’ Division title after beating Prestwich 10-1.
With a game in hand of nearest challengers Chadderton Cot - who beat Failsworth 7-4 - they are 20 points clear and cannot be caught.
But the ‘A’ Division title is still up for grabs between Springbank and Waterloo and Taunton, with the former holding a four-point lead with two matches remaining.
ROY Travis beat Ian Bardsley 21-5 in the final of the latest Ashton Cricket Club winter competition.
The consolation final was won by Len Stewart, who beat Paul Craven 21-15.
ENTRIES are being accepted for the 2011 Moorside Classic which has qualifying rounds on July 21, 22, 28 and 29, and August 4, 5, 11 and 12 (6.30pm).
The finals will be held on August 21(1.30pm).
Entry fee is £15 and winners of two games are guaranteed £30. The winner of the competition receives £700.
