NON-LEAGUE FOOTBALL: CHADDERTON’S Manchester Premier Cup dream was shattered last night when they were beaten 4-1 at home by Ashton United in the quarter-final.
Paul Buckley’s side produced a determined performance but found themselves a goal down at the break, Jon Bathurst on target after 39 minutes.
Sam Madeley doubled the advantage three minutes after the interval, before James Curley pulled a goal back for the hosts with 20 minutes remaining.
But Bathurst’s second of the game soon followed, and Marlin Piana wrapped up the win in the 88th minute.
Special Kay
MOSSLEY beat Wakefield 3-0 last night in the Evo-Stik League Division One North.
Matty Kay scored twice, with Mike Oates also netting.
