Important meeting forecast
Date published: 17 February 2011
CRICKET: UMPIRES in the Saddleworth and District Cricket League are urged to attend a meeting next Wednesday to discuss the Weathertime System, which comes into operation this season.
The get-together provides a practical presentation as to how the programme, which determines results of matches when rain or bad light intervenes, works.
Further meetings are being staged on March 16 and March 23 for players, scorers and officials.
People can attend on both of the above dates if they wish.
All meetings take place at Saddleworth Cricket Club, Well-i-Hole (7.45pm).
The system was unanimously approved at last October’s annual meeting. It will be used as a trial in Division One matches only in 2011.
