Runcorn trip off for Brown

NON-LEAGUE FOOTBALL: OLDHAM Boro forward Paul Brown will miss the trip to Runcorn Town tomorrow in Vodkat North-West Counties League Division One.

Brown has declared himself unavailable for selection due to work commitments.

Manager Tony Mills is desperate to see a game go ahead after a string of postponements due to bad weather conditions.

“We have only played twice since November 20,” said Mills.

“It is so frustrating because people don’t know if they are coming or going, and sometimes it is a last-minute decision on whether the game will go ahead.”

CHADDERTON boss Paul Buckley is likely to shuffle the pack against AFC Blackpool in the NWCL tomorrow, after the midweek 4-1 home loss to Ashton United in the Manchester Premier Cup quarter-final.
However, he will have to do without the services of Lewis Maynard, who is nursing a broken metatarsal.

MIDFIELDER Aaron Chalmers will be pushing for a place in Mossley’s starting line-up when they go to Skelmersdale United tomorrow in Evo-Stik League Division One North.
Chalmers, who was originally ruled out for the season when he suffered ankle ligament damage last month, made a surprise return to the first-team picture in the midweek 3-0 victory over Wakefield.

He replaced Kristian Dennis with 15 minutes remaining and showed no ill-effects.

Manager Shaun Higgins has a selection headache in the striking department.

If he sticks with his recent 4-3-3 formation he must choose three from Dennis, Chris Hall, Mike Fish and Michael Oates.
