DARTS: CLASSY Dave Rawstron averaged 97.35 for every three darts thrown as Oldham overcame Little Hulton 9-1 in the Lancashire Super Eights Elite League.
Rawstron also recorded a maximum 180 in a 4-1 win over the Bolton outfit.
Despite the scoreline Oldham, who struck 130 tons on a terrific afternoon of darts, had to dig deep to end a run of two successive defeats.
Seven of the 10 matches went to a deciding leg as third-bottom Little Hulton belied their position in the table.
Stuart Holden (4-0, 72.32), Ian Walters (4-3, 85.27) and Lee Williams (4-3, 77.18) propelled Oldham into an early 3-0 lead.
Little Hulton reduced the deficit by taking game four, but they did not win again.
John Moreton (4-2, 85.08) restored the three-game advantage, before Rawstron’s super display made it 5-1.
Eric Plumb, on debut, hit a maximum in a 4-3 success (87.56), before Gary Jackson (4-3, 77.78), Peter Connolly (4-3, 79.84) and Geoff Tucker (4-3, 93.26) wrapped up victory.
Moreton, Connolly and Tucker also registered 180s.
Oldham, who are fourth, return to action on Sunday, March 20, with a home match against Blackpool.
