SNOOKER: LITTLE Cot ‘A’ have extended their lead at the top of the Pet Au Purrs Oldham Amateur Snooker League following their 5-1 victory over Springbank ‘A’.

A break of 36 from Danny Balcerzak gave Cot a flying start. Kenny Joncyk levelled the scores, but Cot showed their class to take the next three frames and record a convincing victory which puts them a massive 18 points clear of nearest rivals High Crompton.

Chadderton Reform dented any hope Moss ‘A’ had of closing the gap on Cot ‘A’.

Reform’s 5-1 victory means Moss are now 21 points adrift of the run-away leaders.

Greenfield also sprang a surprise at darts, beating previously-unbeaten Mossley 5-1.

Yorkshire Ward 1 moved up to fourth in the snooker section after a comfortable 5-1 win at Greenfield 1.

Breaks of the week: M Lang 39, R Kershaw 33.

Moss win battle of the big guns
MOSS Inn have gone to the top of the Saw-Tech Snooker League after beating previous leaders Comrades ‘A’ 5-1 in a match which was much closer than the final score suggests.

Four of the five frames were clinched by 10 points or less.
