RUGBY LEAGUE: A BLISTERING start set Fitton Hill Bulldogs on the way to a 22-10 win at Rochdale Cobras ‘A’ — their second win of the season in Division Six of the Kukri North-West Counties League.
The Bulldogs, with tries from Carl Molloy and new signing Danny Mortin, opened up an early 10-0 lead. One of the tries was converted.
Cobras hit back with a try of their own, to the annoyance of the visitors, who had bossed the game up until that point.
But the Bulldogs regrouped and sealed victory thanks to tries from Mortin and Aaron Fleming.
Cobras scored a consolation try late on.
Outstanding for the Bulldogs were Josh Hulme, Fleming and brothers Richard and Danny Mortin.
In Division One, Oldham St Anne’s ‘A’ lost 48-6 at Leigh Miners Welfare, while Waterhead ‘A’ were beaten 54-8 by Rochdale Cobras in Division Four.
The game between Saddleworth Rangers ‘A’ and Cadishead Rhinos was postponed.
