Mossley wait on Watson

NON-LEAGUE FOOTBALL: MOSSLEY are sweating on the fitness of defender Andy Watson ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Garforth Town in the Evo-Stik League Division One North.

Watson suffered a thigh injury in the midweek defeat at the hands of Prescot Cables.

Manager Shaun Higgins said: “We are not sure if Andy will recover in time. He had the same injury earlier this season.

“If he pulls through it will probably be an unchanged starting line-up because, even though we lost, it was such a one-sided game in our favour.”

Former Athletic trainee Chris Hall is likely to keep his place in the Lilywhites strikeforce.

CHADDERTON duo Gareth Morris and Chris Pauley miss the visit of Daisy Hill tomorrow in the Vodkat North-West Counties League Division One, due to work commitments.

Andrew Pheby is also ruled out with a groin injury. He joins long-term absentee John Rogers (leg) on the sidelines.

However, manager Paul Buckley welcomes back Leon Melia, who has missed out recently because of work.

Buckley said: “I am expecting a very difficult game against Daisy Hill.

“They have already beaten us once this season so it will be tough.”

OLDHAM Boro welcome back Wayne Ware, Gary Nolan and Graham Whittingham for the NWCL Division One game at Holker Old Boys.

The trio were working in midweek, which meant they did not feature in the 3-1 defeat at Leek CSOB.

Michael Schofield is struggling with a sore knee and is rated 50-50 to play.

Boro boss Tony Mills said: “Holker have a magnificent home record.

“When Chadderton won there recently it was a brilliant result because most teams come away with nothing.

“It is such a long drive. You get there, change, and then the players are straight out on to the pitch. They can get caught cold. But hopefully it won’t happen to us.”
