AMATEUR RUGBY LEAGUE: WILL it be a case of third time lucky for Saddleworth Rangers and Siddal tomorrow?
After two failed attempts because of the weather, the sides will hope to play their BARLA National Cup, third-round tie at Greenfield (kick-off 2.30pm).
The National Conference League Premier Division rivals have already played each other twice this season, with the head-to-head score at 1-1.
Rangers are gearing up for a busy spell of action, with fixtures coming thick and fast.
After Siddal, they are at home to Bradford Dudley Hill in the league on Wednesday night.
“We haven’t got the luxury of a big squad, so it isn’t as though we can pick and choose who plays when,” said Brennan.
“It is a case of fielding the strongest set of players who are fit and available, and that’s what we will do this weekend.
“The players are really looking forward to it. They’ve used the physical side of their game against them in the past, but they also know that they have to be on our mettle because Siddal are a good team.”
Rangers centres Danny Adams (hamstring) and Brett Eccleston (groin) face late fitness checks.
OLDHAM St Anne’s are on a recovery mission in NCL Division One tomorrow.
Mick Cashin’s men, who are fourth-bottom, visit third-placed Rochdale Mayfield (2.30pm), six days after succumbing to a disappointing 28-10 defeat at home to Myton Warriors.
GARRY Highton’s in-form Waterhead side are chasing a fourth victory on the bounce in NCL Division Two tomorrow.
The Peach Road outfit’s impressive run of results has eased re-election fears, and they will look to further pull away from the bottom two places when they go to mid-table Ovenden (2.30pm).
SADDLEWORTH Rangers under-18s begin their Gillette Conference Youth League season on Sunday with a home match against Featherstone Lions (1.30pm).
