NON-LEAGUE FOOTBALL: MIKE Jones is pushing for a start in Mossley’s trip to Salford City tonight in the Evo-Stik League Division One North (7.45pm kick-off).

Jones impressed as a second half substitute in the 3-1 defeat to Chorley at the weekend.

The Lilywhites are looking for a return to winning ways following six straight defeats.

Jones could come in for Aaron Chalmers, whom he replaced against Chorley.

OLDHAM Boro hope to welcome back Lee Deakin from his bout of flu for tonight’s home clash with Cheadle Town in the Vodkat North-West Counties League Division One (7.45pm).
Damien Schofield (knee) and Paul Brown (work commitments) are also likely to return, after missing the 3-2 reverse at AFC Blackpool last time out. But midfielder Brad Byrne has to work.

Boss Tony Mills said: “We are playing well but our main problem at the moment is our inability to get a consistent 11 on the pitch.

“We have had injuries and people have been working, so it has been a case of mixing and matching.

“At least we have got a few players back for the Cheadle Town game, which is going to be hard because they are having a good season.”

CHADDERTON can do Boro a favour when they host Ashton Town tonight in the NWCL (7.45pm).
Town are one place above Mills’ side, who are 16th and have played three more games, so a positive result for Chadderton would be a boost for their neighbours.

Lewis Maynard (broken metatarsal) is Chadderton’s only definite absentee.
