Cot hit back in style to extend lead

SNOOKER:
LITTLE Cot ‘A’ bounced back from a first defeat in 13 games to record an emphatic 5-1 win over Chadderton Reform in the Pet Au Purrs Oldham Amateur Snooker League.
Dave Newton lost the opening frame, but it was one-way traffic after that with the pacesetters claiming the next four frames and the aggregate.
The win leaves Cot ‘A’ 21 points clear of nearest rivals High Crompton.
Meanwhile, Royton Band have opened up a nine-point lead in the Cards League after a 4-0 whitewash over Springbank ‘B’.
DOBCROSS and Mossley, the top two in the Saddleworth Snooker League, recorded convincing wins in the penultimate round of matches.
Two points separate the title contenders with one week to go.
Yorkshire Ward 2 and Mossley cannot be caught in the crib and darts divisions respectively.
