Runners reward

RUNNING: A record number of Royton Road Runners made the annual trip to the Yorkshire Dales for the popular Dentdale Run.
Near-perfect conditions helped the 35-strong team to some impressive times, including several personal best times for the course and a number of good debut performances.
Royton were rewarded with second place in a competitive men’s team race.
Ian McBride’s continued his excellent start to the season by finishing fifth in one hour 20 minutes 41 seconds.
Brother Dave McBride produced a superb debut run on the tough 14.2 mile course to come home 30th in 1:33:59.
Stuart Carroll, the reigning club champion, improved by nearly three minutes on his 2010 time to finish 11th in 1:27:41 and claim a veterans prize in his first UK race since he turned 40.
Carole Madden was fourth in the women’s race and second FV45 in an impressive 1:41:45. Sheila Waite was the club’s second woman home and fifth FV45 in 1:52:47.
