NETBALL:
OLDHAM, with only seven players because of multiple fixtures, were beaten 49-35 by Newcastle team Seatonians in the Northern League.
It was a decent performance from Oldham, who trailed by just two points at 10-8 at the end of the first quarter.
Amber Hazelton made four interceptions in the second quarter, scoring off, but Oldham still trailed 23-18 at half-time.
Seatonians dominated the third quarter, despite some fine interceptions from goalkeeper Megan Tann.
Oldham were much-improved after the last change — Khadija Pemberton was switched to wing attack and Becky Smith went to wing defence — but their opponents had enough in the bank to clinch victory.
