NON-LEAGUE FOOTBALL: OLDHAM Boro were beaten 2-1 by Norton United for the second time in seven days in North-West Counties League Division One.

A Tom Winkle penalty gave United the lead four minutes before the break after Lee Deakin was adjudged to have handled the ball.

Daniel Anderson equalised after 57 minutes with a neat finish from close range, only for Scott Dundas – who netted in the previous encounter – to ruin Boro's day again by producing what proved to be the winner after an hour, courtesy of a deft lob.

Tony Mills' men remain in 16th place, having won just four games this term.

"The handball which led to the penalty was very dubious – even the lads from Norton said that afterwards," said manager Mills.

"We just cannot buy a win at the moment. We dominated the game but didn't finish the job. When you are in our situation everything seems to go against you.

"No one is hammering us or playing us off the park. We don't finish enough of our chances and when we do go in front, we cannot hold on to a lead."

Boro host Holker Old Boys tomorrow (8pm kick-off).

CHADDERTON were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Wigan Robin Park in Vodkat NWCL Division One.
Michael Sykes put the sixth-placed visitors in front with 18 minutes on the clock.

But top scorer James Curley levelled for Paul Buckley's men with two minutes remaining.

However, the hosts could not find a winner and they drop to fifth in the table, with 71 points to their name.

MOSSLEY were beaten 1-0 by leaders Chester City at Seel Park in Evo-Stik League Division One North.
In a tight encounter of few clear-cut chances, skipper George Horan popped up with the winning goal just before the hour mark.

Lilywhites boss Shaun Higgins handed a start to 19-year-old Kyle McGonigle in central midfield.

McGonigle, who is in the second year of his scholarship at Bury, will spend the rest of the season at Mossley.

He played for 76 minutes before being replaced by Cavell Coo.

Versatile stopper Rob Flint, who has joined the club from Leigh Genesis, was an unused substitute.

Mossley welcome Salford City to Seel Park tomorrow (7.45pm).
